PAPARAZZI(狗仔隊)

Good afternoon! Judges.

The topic of the speech that I would like to talk about is ”paparazzi”.

The word “paparazzi” can be traced back in an Italian movie for the first time in 1960s. In order to earn the living, the journalist in this movie always tried to find out some gossips about famous people. Because of the excellent acting, “paparazzi” is well-known around the world.

Nowadays, due to the complexity in Taiwan, the paparazzi supply lots of gossips for us. By doing so, we may have multiple thoughts. For example, we probably prejudge someone when he or she does something wrong. Therefore, at the same time we also learn about the negative side of human beings. For another example, to get exclusive news, the paparazzi sometimes use incorrect methods. And there is something to do with respect and moral.

To sum up, co matter the influence of paparazzi is good or bad. In my opinion, they at least enrich our daily life.

     Thank you for your listening.

Good afternoon! Judges.

The topic of the speech that I would like to talk about is ”paparazzi”.

At first the paparazzi were an annoying group of photographers who were persistent ,when trying to get the perfect shot of a celebrity ,so they could sell the image for large sums of money ,but as technology became more advanced ,so did the equipment the paparazzi used - telephoto lenses, high-tech listening devices, and powerful zoom lenses on video cameras.

Paparazzi benefit from the digital age. The obvious weapon of the paparazzi is the camera, and new digital technology stacks the odds in favor of the celebrity photographer. With smaller digital cameras, it is easier for paparazzi to conceal their work.

Is that legal? The answer is no. But with the lucrative nature of the business, legal expenses have become part of operating costs and have contributed significantly to the high price tag on such photographs.

On one side, superstars say they can't leave their homes without being chased by paparazzi clamoring for that money shot. On the other, photographers say the well-compensated celebrities are fair game. The two couldn't be further apart, yet they have to coexist.

Some observers blamed paparazzi for the deaths of Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed, who were killed in 1997 in a high-speed car accident in Paris, France, while being pursued by paparazzi.

To sum up, co matter the influence of paparazzi is good or bad. In my opinion, they at least enrich our daily life.

     Thank you for your listening.
